    Ethics
Is it wrong to want someone to get a divorce so you don't have to deal with them any more?

My parents are at it yet again and if they don't do something this time I quit.

In other news, the wedding stuff is coming along nicely. And tonight should be really fun. Although it may involve me sleeping for about 2 hrs and then getting up to play. I've been really stressed out/ tired recently and I'm pretty sure that Coffee is a bad thing for me right now.

    Thanks Seii.

    EDIT:

The answer to my last entry is PRE traumatic stress.

Ж-Men...but not the ones you might expect!
This week LJ Russia launched Ж-Men, a new comedy series about superheroes, inspired by the LJ communities dedicated to superheros, comics and cartoons. The title's "Ж" comes from ЖЖ, the nickname for LiveJournal in Russia.

Ж-Men's script is written by a group of LJ enthusiasts who also happen to be television professionals. Who knew? Following the premiere, five more episodes will be broadcast over the next two weeks. We hope you find the series fresh and enjoyable.

This is, of course, an experiment for LiveJournal. As always, we'd love to hear what you think!

Name 5 people you can think of right off the top of your head. Don't read the questions underneath until you write the names of all 5 people. This is a lot funnier if you actually randomly list the names first.. No cheating!

    George Carlin
    New Rules for 2008

GEORGE CARLIN'S NEW RULES FOR 2008

New Rule: No more gift registries. You know, it used to be just for weddings. Now it's for babies and new homes and graduations from rehab. Picking out the stuff you want and having other people buy it for you isn't gift giving, it's the white people version of looting.

New Rule: Stop giving me that pop-up ad for classmates.com! There's a reason you don't talk to people for 25 years. Bec ause you don't particularly like them! Besides, I already know what the captain of the football team is doing these days --- mowing my lawn.

New Rule: Don't eat anything that's served to you out a window unless you're a seagull. People are acting all shocked that a human finger was found in a bowl of Wendy's chili. Hey, it cost less than a dollar. What did you expect it to contain? Lobster?

New Rule: Stop saying that teenage boys who have sex with their hot, blonde teachers are permanently damaged . I have a better description for these kids: 'Lucky bastards.'

New Rule: Ladies, leave your eyebrows alone. Here's how much men care about your eyebrows: Do you have two of them? Good, we're done.

New Rule:There's no such thing as flavored water. There's a whole aisle of this crap at the supermarket, water, but, without that watery taste. Sorry, but flavored water is called a soft drink . You want flavored water? Pour some scotch over ice and let it melt. That's your flavored water.

New Rule: I'm not the cashier! By the time I look up from sliding my card, entering My PIN number, pressing 'Enter,' verifying the amount, deciding, no, I don't want Cash back, and pressing 'Enter' again, the kid who is supposed to be ringing me up is standing there eating my Mars Bar.

New Rule: Just because your tattoo has Chinese characters in it doesn't make you Spiritual. It's right above the crack of your ass. And it translates to 'beef with broccoli.' The last time you did anything spiritual, you were praying to God you weren't pregnant. You're not spiritual. You're just high.

New Rule: If you're going to insist on making movies based on crappy old television shows, then you have to give everyone in the Cineplex a remote so we can see what's playing on the other screens. Let's remember the reason something was a tele vision sh ow in the first place is that the idea wasn't good enough to be a movie.

New Rule: When I ask how old your toddler is, I don't need to hear '27 months.' 'He's two' will do just fine. He's not a cheese. And I didn't really care in the first place.

New Rule: If you ever hope to be a credible adult and want a job that pays better than Minimum wage, then for God's sake don't pierce or tattoo every available piece of flesh. If so, then plan your future around saying, 'Do you want fries with that?'

    Antibiotics
    So here's the report:

I finished my antibiotics yesterday and--while my ears are still sore and a little red-- the swelling is down and the knot behind my ear is gone. My hearing is still a little goofy in that ear and my balance has been better, but for the most part it's gone. I'm gonna watch it really close for a couple of days and see how it does and hopefully I won't have to start more antibiotics.

    In wedding news:

It sounds like we're going to have the Bridal Shower in september. Being that the wedding is in December do you guys think this is too early? Per Wikipedia they usually take place 2 ish months before hand and this is going to happen 4 months before. The only issue we're going to run up against as we get closer to the wedding is that every two weeks there's some event or another, starting halfway through october with David's birthday. Any suggestions?

I think I'm going to make my invitations. David won't like it I think, but I'll have fun. I'm gonna make a run to staples to see how much different types of paper cost. If anyone knows where I can get some nice paper for not too expensive that would be awesome. I need a flat black and a smooth/shiny red. I'm gonna test a couple of different ways of printing to see what kinds will work best with the laser jet, but I might wind up handwriting things...*hopes not*

Also: I have an anon. poster. These people always strike my curiosity. Mostly because I like to know who they are and if I know them. Well, I suppose they'll show themselves eventually. Or disappear... Whatever.

    Teaching moment
Ok, so I went to school to be an English teacher, forgive me in advance.

Someone please read the article in TIME called "The (Not So) Lunatic Fringe" from the July 21, 2008 iss and then read "Harrison Bergeron" by Kurt Vonnegut. If "Harrison Bergeron" is the Drastic Conformist side then "The (Not So) Lunatic Fringe" is the Drastic Non Conformist...SOOOO good for teaching Politics/english/CWP to high school students. Goddamn the public school systems for being too shitty to work in...Pay teachers more and pin more responsibility on parents/students!

ok, so I'm done ranting. Seriously though, read both of them side by side and you might get a giggle. or something....

    MEDIC
There are many types of people in this world. Some of us are "older" than others and some of us just feel that way.

Today, the part of me that is a medic is screaming so loud for something to be done I can scarcely hear myself think. One of my patients is suffering quite a bit and there's nothing I can do about it. Because I am a medic I am bound by the same rules that doctors in the "real" world are. "First do no harm" What exactly does that mean? Don't allow your patient to come to harm? or don't inflict harm upon them? how about not letting others inflict harm on your patients? now define harm. Physically pain? Mental? Emotional? All of them? As a medic I only have enough knowledge to patch people up. I don't do major surgery. I don't fight the battles. I run onto the field long enough to pull people out and stitch them up and send them off to the real doctors in the world. But what am I supposed to do when my patient won't hold still long enough to be stitched up and the world is out of doctors right now?

I know I am sounding all melodramatic, but seii got me talking about my book again last night, and I've started writing again--little brother, you know what that means--so everything is going to feel a little blown out of proportion.

    in other news:

People who do weddings can be really rude. just because I didn't buy a wedding dress from your stupid store doesn't mean that i should be treated like a child and an idiot when i buy something else from you. That's piss poor customer service. and who am I gonna tell? the manager? that's there person I'm bitching about.

    little rant
ok...so I was up last night untill a little after midnight. Then I got up at three thirty and finally got back to sleep a little after 4 and woke up for work at 6:30. Why you ask?

Well, somewhere between bleeding so much that i had to basically mop the shower floor and pull the hair trap out to rinse it and not having nearly enough water in my system I was cramping and shaking and having all kinds of fun things going on. God Bless David for sticking by me the whole time.

I'm doing ok today, other than still shaking a little--though that might be from the coffee with no breakfast. My ears hurt like hell still too which sucks.

oh yeah, for those of you who don't know I got my ears pierced on thursday and the right one is pretty much fine, but the left ear is swollen and nasty.

ne way, that's enough for now.
